The values of Mary Kathryn’s counseling practice are an overflow of her personhood. She is relationally-minded, motivated, and uniquely qualified in her mind-body-spirit approach. She cares deeply for her clients and pursues continuing education that will better equip her in doing this. 
Mary Kathryn encourages clients to be present-minded, body aware, and intentional with how they want to change, all of which are intentions she has set for herself. Disordered Eating

Everyone has a relationship with food. Mary Kathryn uses an Intuitive Eating and Health At Every Size approach when working with this population. Her goal is to decrease shame and guilt while empowering the client to explore body acceptance, life-enhancing movement and a non-judgemental relationship with food. Throughout counseling, clients will learn how a relationship with food affects our relationships with self, others and the world around us.

Women's Issues

Women face a variety of unique issues and are often the first to sacrifice their needs for others.  Mary Kathryn enjoys coming alongside women who struggle to find their place in career, family, and other relationships. These women might experience a loss of identity or feelings of depression or anxiety in the midst of transition. Counseling offers a safe place to reestablish their voice, feel empowered, and experience a renewed sense of self.

Trauma

Mary Kathryn uses her training in Trauma Centered Trauma Sensitive Yoga and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing to work with clients who have a hisotry of trauma. Trauma has the potential to impair our relationships, work environment, and contribute to co-occurring issues such as depression and anxiety. Trauma can be a single incident or recurring incidents in which a person witnesses or directly experiences the perception of threatened death, serious injury, or sexual violence. Mary Kathryn aims to empower these clients in restoring feelings of safety and security.
